Vista & IE updatesHad 19 updates last night. Today none of my forums work, cant use any site that has a form or security using IE 7. Using Firefox now without probs. Does any one know what settings the updates are likely to have changed to cause these problems?
On DS the central header bar is missing, all post buttons are missing but on the opening page the top is blank but the top righthand three buttons (forum traders & recipes) do work even though I cant see them.

No problems here either. Try rolling back the updates.

the second problem sounds like it's blocking images? it could be that the images you do see are cached.
but overall i would try changing security settings to Medium-High

Was on MED high, tried med (should be low as its the lowest setting).
images seem ok as all other ones show even on new threads.
Did you others get IE updates as well as Vista ones?
The IE update shows in recenct updates but not in the list of removable ones grrrr.

We had a problem with IE7 on a laptop. It refused to log into our CMS or authenticate properly with a variety of web sites, just on this one machine. After an auto update it started working again. Maybe the reverse has happened to your IE7.
Here ends my highly technical and useful contribution.

Er stops it filtering & makes the site work.....
Was a graphics thing. Been checking a few sites & it was blocking pics.
I wonder if its part of the IEPro 7 add on?

if i'm not mistaken, ie7 in vista has a feature where it will filter out images from websites it thinks are dubious - often images that are served from a separate server and/or web address to the one being visited such as with ad servers.
in the case of DS you will see some images being served www.downsizer.net and others from forum.downsizer.net

i don't have my laptop with vista/ie7 to hand so will check tomorrow.
i know that there is also a problem with vista displaying/saving images if the cache is too full so check that as well.
