Wardrobe height for double hanging?

We're going to get a bedroom kitted out with wardrobes, someone will do the carcasses and we'll do the doors at a later stage. How high do they need to be internally to accommodate 2 hanging rails? Height is not an issue (2.5 mtrs available), just thinking that we might put a shelf in above if it's usable

easy to reach would be top of my list

perhaps long stuff at one side and a double rail thing for jacket sized stuff

too high is for stuff you keep but never use Wink

ps pull out rails are ace for maximising storage in a small space

When I design wardrobes and dressing rooms for clients we simply look at what they have and how they hang them.

Shirts, jackets and blouses obviously on a hanger, but do you fold trousers over or hang full length? How long are your skirts, 25 ins or 33ins, are they hung on clip hangers or folded over a bar ?

Really the only way to be sure for you is to measure the longest item, then decide how you will separate them in the wardrobe. If mixed items then the longest item is the height you need plus the hanger. Or have one rail for the shorter items and the other for the longer.

You can get pull down rails if they are too high to reach but they have a very limited loading, I think the max is about 15kg.

2.5 mtrs should give you two rails and a shelf over.

Space is huge, this'll be a 3.9 mtr run

She's about 5'8", this is the spare room so most of the stuff will be not so frequently used, it's just about maximum storage really dpack

if you have space fixed rails are best Cathryn

A shelf under makes stuff more accessible and doesn't put the hanging rail out of reach either.
