Water biscuits
Ingredients
- 185g (6oz) plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 45g (1 1/2oz butter or lard
- 60ml (2 fl oz) water
Recipe
- Preheat oven to 180 c
- Grease several baking sheets.
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.
- Rub in butter.
- Add water to form a dough.
- Knead on floured surface until smooth.
- Roll out very thinly.
- Prick well with a fork.
- Cut out using a 8cm (3 1/2")cutter.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until very slightly browned.
