One question, where on the board do I ask for advise on where to buy/find things?

Depends what things, he said not-very-helpfully. Try sticking a question in the section which seems the best fit. You could also do a search to see if there are already posts about whatever it is you're looking for.

Welcome Amicheli, hope you will find what you're looking for. We have a separate forum called Trading Post which is mainly for buying/selling things among members (whether second hand or something you produce). Otherwise as Sean says if you're trying to find a supplier of a particular thing try Grow Your Own for garden stuff, Recipes etc for food.
Or just tell us here and we'll suggest the best place for it - it will still be worth doing a separate post if it is something that's not been covered before because someone else may be wondering exactly the same thing
