Hello mightyshadow,
To be honest, it is hubby who does all the planting, germinating, digging, watering, growing, get-your-hands-mucky etc etc type of stuff. I just admire all the produce that we get from both our garden and our allotment and then I cook with it.
This year we have courgettes, carrots, potatoes, butternut squashes, pattypan squashes, peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, french beans, runner beans, onions, leeks, radishes, raspberries and melons on the go. Maybe even some more!
But we are not expecting a good crop of anything as hubby has spent the last 10 weeks in plaster (broken ankle and dislocated foot - ouch!) and has not been able to get on with anything.
I can deal with the things in the greenhouse in our garden but that's only the cherry toms, peppers and cucumbers really. Still, plenty of salad for us this year!
I look forward to hearing about all you grow and how you're getting on.

Hi maisie, I do not know if there will be alot to tell, i am as green as they come at growing things. my toms, lettice and beetroot are doing well but that is about it.(so lots of salad for us to) something keeps visiting my garden and helping itself to the rest especially my broc. But i have now been told about a mixing washing up liquid and water together and using it as a spray and it does seem to work . I found a green caterpiller type thingy eating my broc and after i sprayed it , well lets just say it won't be eating my veg again. Next year i am going to start them of in trays then plant them when they are bigger . as soon as any thing comes through and it shows the slightest bit of green it's gone again. I am really begining to wonder why i bothered at the moment.
I am sorry to hear about your other half my husband dislocated his shoulder a few years ago so i know how painful a dislo is. lyn (just incase you were wondered mighty shadow was the name given to our last car and for some reason we still use the name even though the car went over a year ago)

Hi Lyn,
I was wondering about the name mightyshadow, a very interesting name!
Hubby always plants in trays first before transplanting into the ground and it does seem to work well.
The diluted washing-up liquid idea is a good one. Hope you squirt those little blighters before they eat all your crunchy green leaves!
