What are these mushrooms on front lawn please? Please can I have some advice from the seasoned experts? These are my very first mushrooms which I realise may not be edible, but will be a learning experience if nothing else!
These are all over our front lawn. We had two birch trees but these were felled last year. The lawn was also redone at the time with new top-soil being put on. They're small and smell nice a bit like the large flat mushrooms from the supermarket to me.
Any advice gratefully received!

I'dve said too short and not pointy enough on the cap. 'Those' mushrooms have a pronounced nipple.

I agree. They are not "magic" mushrooms!
No idea what they are, though.

Thanks for the posts. Yeah I see what you mean they're not quite the ones.

I was trying to forstall any possible dissapointment, not that I'd know what 'those' mushrooms look like you understand.
