Where should we advertise?

Hi all,

We are soon to market our smallholding and were wondering where to market it/who with. Apart from on here (obviously), and agents like Rural Scene, who would you put it with/where do you look when looking for a smallholding?

It is a period attached ex-farmworkers cottage. It is in a remote rural hamlet and is on a no-through road. It has stunning views over our own land and the valley beyond.

It has been completely renovated throughout and is now in pristine condition. It has 2/3 bedrooms (the dining room has previously been used as a bedroom), lounge, kitchen/diner, dining room, study, boot room, upstairs family bathroom and two bedrooms. Outside it is set back from the no-through road, has a 21'x10' detached individually designed garage with (working!) hayloft over, 130' drive down to the house which gives access to the 3 acres behind the house, the land is split into two fields, with pig ark, mobile field shelter and water.

Although we are using it as a "smallholding" we are quite keen to interest the horsey set too (sorry) as we think they might have deeper pockets.

The postcode is SP11 (nr Andover, Hampshire) and is commutable - 5 mins to Whitchurch for the Waterloo train, 5 mins to the A34, 10 mins to A303.

We were thinking of getting round Rural Scene, Strutt & Parker, Knight Frank and Lane Fox - can anyone suggest anyone else?

I'm looking at smallholdings at present ( but not in Hampshire, too bloody expensive!). As a buyer, I find Ruralscene the best site.

Places like www.struttparker.co.uk are good at getting top prices for properties like this.

We had half a dozen enquiries from the private sale site Houseladder, too.
