Why is ...laying loft insulation so bleeding awkward?
By the time I've crawled under the aerials worked around the pipes and left the cables clear for ventilation I reckon this isn't going to be complete before summer!

I presume I just pour the mixture between the joists and let the escaping heat cook it

There surely isn't anything such thing as a straight forward DIY job. Wonky walls and non-90deg corners make for interesting cupboards installation...
Gervase will know all about wonky walls... he likes old houses apparently.
