I had the pleasure of meeting Quail at a green event in Bristol recently.
Her stall was swamped by punters and press. What I observed was she knew the press were weeing themselves trying to get an interview but she 'ignored' the press and paid attention to the customers with quite detailed explanations on where and how the clothes are made, helping the customers. The stuff was selling itself too. The press were busying themselves with shorthand and photos while all this was going on and certainly picked up better things to write about. Genius, I thought.
I talked to Quail By Mail afterwards. I had recognised the fat bird logo from Downsizer. What a switched on young lady she is...and it's all about ethics and the customer, let me tell you, each piece has a real story and source. That cowhide bag especially.

woo, way to go Marion. Now then, do you promise to keep it tidy and not cart clutter round in it, and only keep eco-friendly necessities in it, and never ever let sweeties escape their wrappers in its depths etc etc

Just to say my bag arrived safely this morning - and its a smashing bag
The leather is lovely and supple, embroidery detail looks really good, its all extremely good quality. (and plenty of room in it for all my bits n bobs ) I thought from the pic that it was black but in fact its brown - believe it or not I've been wanting a brown bag for ages!
I showed it to my Mum, Sister and Neice, and they were all quite envious - I think my Neice was half hoping I would say she could have it - no way - its mine - all mine

I got one for my birthday - neat isn't it
I'm saving mine for best too - my carpet bag carts around the daily necessities
