Wind taking our fence!

Hi ya,
we've just moved to a small town in the hills nearby Manchester Smile - and we've been experiencing strong winds now for couple of days which are causing serious damage to part of our garden fence! (wooden fence pieces in between concrete supports)

The fence in most part seem to be ok - we've already secured some parts with small bits of wood to stop their racket in the wind. But, of the fence between us & neighour one piece has been hanging a bit poorly since before we moved in and fell off last night (luckily we hadn't yet managed to construct greenhouse as it fell right on that place!! Surprised), and another piece is about to fall off too. Funny thing is, both these pieces seem pretty new (wood in good condition etc).

There's no one next door, they seem to be working on the house, and doing up the garden too. I'm wondering if the fences are falling down because during the work they've done in the garden they've bashed & damaged the fence, and we (with the neighbours) should just replace the pieces with similar
Or - if the winds up here are just too strong and we should consider other type of fencing (what though, I don't know, not had a fence - or a garden - before!)

Any help / stories of similar experiences much appriciated!

So you did move successfully !

How are the wooden panels attached to the concrete posts ? Or do they fit into a groove in the concrete ? Are the posts loose / moving, which would then loosen the panels ?
