Winter let?

A friend of mine is looking for a temporary home away from mobile phone masts and other electromagnetic stuff which she is super-sensitive to - any suggestions? She's wondering if a winter let in a rural-ish area would do. She doesn't drive and needs access to public transport, which I imagine is pretty incompatible with the no mobile coverage requirement, but I said I'd ask around!

Cheers.

Even here in the wilds there is some kind of police comms mast up on a hill, which is apparently even worse than the commercial phone masts.

What are the problems with phone masts? (recently been approached about siting one on some of my land)

A very small number of people are hypersensitive to electromagnetic fields such as those which surround mobile phone base stations. Whether the symptoms are actually due to the phone mast or nocebo effect is still being studied, but either way the sufferers have unpleasant symptoms and tend to find that retreating to relatively "unpolluted" areas is helpful.

It depends what you mean by a winter let, or access to public transport! We are miles from mobile coverage and there's a bus once a week and a train about a mile away that goes three or four times a day to Whitby in one direction and Middlesbrough in the other. And Tesco and Asda deliver, as indeed do we (up to a point) as we live opposite.

We have two cottages relatively free over the winter - if she wants to contact us that'd be fine.

Cheers Bicky - as I understand it a winter let is when a holiday cottage is let for 6 months Oct-Mar like a normal rental, but reverts to holiday letting Apr-Sept. Could you please PM me contact details to pass on to my friend? Do you have a website?

Might be putting our smallholding up for rent shortly - see :

1.5 miles from llangefni town centre, and .5 mile from bus stop, with access to Bangor etc but no neighbours or near masts. Tesco shopping online deliver. Low or nil mobile phone signal on all networks so suspect there wouldnt be a problem with radio frequency sensitivity here.

PM me for more details if its of any interest.

Thanks, I'll mention it to my friend, but I think it would be much too big for her.
