Woodspirits

This is based on the woodspirit from the Wood Spirits and Green Men book I got for my birthday Done with my Pocket Pal, a Frosts carver and my one decent gouge. Not detail yet really but getting there, it's a WIP

Lovely work. I would love to have a go. Does the wood need to be seasoned or can you use green?

The woodspirit is on a piece of wood 4 1/2" by 1 1/2" diameter roughly, they are usually put on walking sticks but this is my practice piece Smile

I used a piece of found wood for these, no idea how long it had been down but it's hard as nails! It has checked a litle on the base though, there's a crack that runs up the bottom of his mustache Razz

so seasoned would probably be better. I go with what I can find though Smile

there's plenty of good pieces of wood out there.
