any tips to prevent my all my efforts becoming moth food? I heard something about cedar.. but can't remember what it was?

I think cedar wood is supposed to deter the moths - you can get little donut style things which are supposed to go over your clothes hangars ...I can't remember where from though - Sorry

Lots of stronglys cented herbs help put them off, but there is to total cure. Best thing to do is store spun wool in bags or sealed boxes, if the moths can't physically get at the wool, they can't eat it.
Herbs I like as a deterrant are southernwood and lavender and cedar, just dont rely on them utterly

plus if they do get into something, then your infestation is limited to one box or bag, not your whole stash

I know it doesn't help Colour it green (Sorry) but do moths eat all fleece, or just sheep's wool? Most of my yarn stash is alpaca - is it safe? I have wool tops, which are sealed in bags though, and despite continuing to put off spinning better, I haven't had any problems with them.
