World Naked Gardening day. Sat May 6th

Need I say more? Thought you would all want to know...

The carnival parade goes past my garden that afternoon. I don't want to add to the horror.

Not a day to prune the holly!

An interesting challenge certainly...

Blimey, I don't go out without long trousers, a hat and boots. Maybe naked gardeners have better tamed gardens than I!

With the deer ticks present in even greater numbers this year there's concern over Lyme disease, babiosis, and - worst of all - powassan virus. We're wearing long pants, long sleeve shirts, and spraying fabric with DEET. dpack

deet is pretty good against ticks but do you have bog myrtle in your area?

tis the best tick (and blackfly) repellent i know of.

That was something I had intended to source and plant.
dpack

wet and acidic

i recon a barrel of peat might be a good home for the stuff.

tis sort of ok as a flavour in beer rather than using hops as well as an ace biter proof skin rub.
Mistress Rose

Bog myrtle sounds a good idea; problem is our soil is a bit alkaline and dry. As far as I know, the main threat from ticks here is Lyme disease.
