yeehaAs some may recall I posted doom and gloom a while back as a certain large computer company broke a contract leaving me £20,000 a year out of pocket, plus another failure to renew a support contract left me a further £5,000 down
Just had a couple of emails to say that the 5 grand one is renewing, and payments on the other one will also be honored until they can legally stop next april.
So in effect a years reprieve to get something else on the go

Just a thought, but if you've already budgeted for dropping 20k of income and it's not happening you'll have loads of spare dosh for giving to worthy causes like oooh say, part time chip-makers based in North Devon.

Much relief here
It will still be somewhat emergency status. That money is going on mortgage, tax bill and I want to buy a bigger better web server this time next year.
It would be really stupid in these recessionary times to blindly believe something will automatically be there this time next year.

that's fortunate. but are you free to pursue other things until the contract expires in April or are they going to lock you down?

I have done perhaps a day or so's work on these contracts over the last 4 years I tried to figure out the hourly rate once. It was something like £10,000 an hour
