Yeti - or not on your yeti?

Well - who believes we have such a 'mythical' creature sharing our planet?

???

Personally I think it would be wonderful if there were such creatures. However, I am unsure if one was found how well it would be treated/exploited by humans.

Is Greenfoot similar to Bigfoot? Very Happy

Only in temperament and being exploited Smile Smile Smile

They're not Yetis - just a few confused 60s acid-casualty hippies wandering bemusedly about, waiting for the Age of Aquarius.

I would dearly love to believe that there might be any large species still wandering around out there, but whislt I'm sure there are thousands of little critters and plants as yet unknown to science, its hard to imagine that something so big wouldnt have been conclusively found by now. Shame, it would be lovely if there did turn out to be some truth in some of these large unproven species legends.

We have a yeti that visits our house regularly. Shocked It frequently makes its nest in piles of dirty clothing left in the bathrooms and we've also found huge toe nail clippings. It can only be a matter of time before we capture the beast. Watch this space. Laughing

I believe Nessie exists.

It enriches my life to believe in the possibility Very Happy .

We are going to release one back into the wilds of university next month and its mate, is applying for jobs that will lead to it setting up its nest far away from its natural range. Very Happy

I'm wondering what Yeti fibre knits like.........

You both need treatment. Laughing Laughing Laughing
wellington womble

And? Laughing

The slippers are boot shaped, but yeti sized. I just need to make some lasts (or do some serious hamstring stretching!) and I'll get them felted down to size. I have a cunning plan for this tommorow.

Does it involve a bath? Laughing

Valenki are very chic I understand Cool
wellington womble

Eh? No baths (unless I am very stiff after teaching) wot's valenki?

Russian felted boots - very nice things - although they take a bit of wearing Very Happy

As you can probably tell - I have a plan to make some Laughing

Remind me to post a pic - prolly fit the bill nicely at the moment! I just need to do some lasts to felt them onto (plans to borrow some fibreclass casting material when is quiet before pilates tommorow!)

many critters are unrecorded but nothing apelike could sustain a viable population density above the snowline imho
it is well bleak on the high himalia / tibetan plataux ,little cover from human eyes and if there were any they would be easy meat .
known apes and bears do travel high but dont reside above the treeline
i spose there is a small chance of an unrecorded ape in the woods but a big high altitude critter dont get my bet
nor nessie for that matter

I read a book once that had the fictional theme that Neanderthals were surviving in inaccessible valleys/caves in Afghanistan, and having flown over it could almost be believed as it really does look like there is loads of inaccessible terrain.

But Man/Ape/Yeti does not live on air alone, any population must hunt/gather/cultivate, they can't just hide in caves or on mountain tops.
