Small basket?

One of my favorites too. Is there any chance of finding it in a dense pine plantation? I've only found it under trees that have been thinned out greatly, more amenity woodland than a plantation.

thats about right ,you generally get it with older trees whose roots have been put under stress or base of trunk has been wounded or both.

Nice find!

Found one a couple of years ago but it was very small ,so I covered it with leaf litter to let it grow.Unfortunately when I came back a few days later it was gone.Still haven't tried one
