What should I be sowing in it now? prefer edibles, but also need plants to make rest of garden pretty too.

Now is the best time to sow winter salads. Real seeds have loads.

Definitely the Christmas lunch early potatoes-sorry about the c word so soon in the year-but the spuds should be in"nowish" to be ready for late December (tomorrow will do). If you do 2 pots minimum and try one about a week before then you will know if you have been successful! I have done them in the past using a supermarket packet of tatties for seed!
