Any verdicts from the first timers?

We loved it; cooked to perfection (although we lost the apple sauce.......... ) it was delicious. There is enough for another four portions I reckon, and although expensive in money terms, I think it was well worth the money. Will have it again.

Wasn't my first time, but I was very pleased with how it came out this year. My oven was new last year, and obviously runs hotter than our old one so last year's was a bit overdone.

The meat itself was much darker than I expected, but very "meaty" tasting.
We had some lovely free range turkey as well and plenty of that left too.

Ours was on the overdone side It was OK but would not put us in the Goose camp, but then that is of course a silly statement as how can you compare something cooked perfectly to something not!

I'd try again if I was you. You've got a baseline to work from, and when you get it right roast goose is absolutely delicious.

I followed HFWs 3 goose recipes.

The stuffed neck was good, but I noticed that the recipe in the book is very different from that on the DVD. I think I'll try the DVD version next time.

The confit of legs went down a storm... very succesful recipe... well worth doing.

The roast breast was also good.

Overall I think goose is preferable to turkey and worth the extra expense. Only downside being not enough leftovers for a curry!!
