If there is a video on You tube can I download it to my own hardrive.
A client has a video of me on a secured You tube account and they will not let me have a copy but I could really do with it for various reasons. I mean it is me and I only want it for my own use and I have a link for it so can I download it from the site? |

If you use firefox you can install an extension called "download helper" with that you can save a youtube video to a file locally. It's usually saved in a .flv format so you will either need to convert it or to get a utility to play files in that format (I use SM player but I'm sure there are others) |

I think VLC (www.videolan.org) supports YouTube download. |

too late as they have now taken the video down. They added it for me to check. Really annoyed as they are re-selling the video of me lecturing and I just want a 1 minute clip to add to my show reel they promised I could have it and now they are being difficult about me using it. This from a development company who sell themselves as supporting women to move ahead hmmmm. |

maybe not, if you have played it through. what browser were you using..?
slim chance its in IE temp, but if say Chrome, it might still be there..
I use a programme called Chromecacheview . and it identifies all the files by type.
so there is a slim chance the vid is on your HD. |

well that was kind of agreed and I also asked in advance for a copy and the response was they didnt see why not. But now they are being difficult. To be honest its a long story and I will not be doing work for them again. |
