I`m no scientist,but if a river meeting sea water,or high tide the sea coming to meet the river water ,the reaction makes electricity,

Would`nt that be the same as a Poacher putting an electric charge into a river to catch fish?

I don't think so Ty Gwyn. You are not putting electricity into the water, you are using the differences in salinity to generate power which you then remove. Not sure how it would work out, and as they say, it is only at the lab stage at the moment, but an interesting idea.
