I've just received a parcel of bare root strawberry plants and they have very long roots. I want to pot them up for now but have read varying things about trimming, or not trimming, the roots. Any advice please?

In my experience, typical strawberry plants are very tough and will take a lot of mistreatment. In the past I have "tidied up" bare root plants prior to potting/planting, including trimming rather long roots.

If you have a tidiness "problem", do what causes the least loss of sleep

I definitely have a tidiness "problem".......but it's more a "lack of tidiness" problem

Thanks for your advice/observation - I will trim the longer roots so that they fit into the pots. Then all I need to do is get my new allotment sorted and my raised beds put in. I've bought some pallet collars to try out for that purpose - small, but perfectly formed!
