Today, I potted up 72 Lollo Rosso lettuce seedlings, potted some mini plum tomato plants into bigger deeper pots. Also transplanted loads of germinated french beans from seed tray into roottrainers. Ditto for a load of white sweetcorn that I picked up in the US when I was last there. I've not grown white sweetcorn before, so shoud be interesting. I am also growing mini strawberry sweetcorn for popping.

Planted out the first batch of 18 red lettuce into my new raised bed.

Also planted 2 black mulberry trees, 1 pear tree, 4 apple trees, dug up and moved another apple tree which was in the wrong place, and a peach tree. Planted a load of Fargesia bamboo to create a screen for my new beehives.

Planted out 4 large trachycarpus palms as well which were extremely heavy/

And dug out a load of overgrown and particularly prickly bushes.

Now chilling out with a nice glass of wine.

What did you plant today?

Planted my Mashua and Oca today, plus got round to sowing the first batch (varieties A - G) of tomatoes. Later than any year yet, thanks to Howard using the potting shed for storing all his bike stuff and not wanting to shift it in case of rain.

Planted the rest of my asparagus crowns in the new bed. Have to say the two batches I got cheap on ebay from randoms were far better looking than those I got from the specialist fruit nursery.

Also planted out a load of golden mange tout on their wigwams and some mispoona seedlings.

Repotting toms too. Planting beans. Just planted out baby beetroot plants.

In the flower borders I've just planted out modules of red poppies and mixed wildflowers.

Not today, but yesterday. Honeyberry, gooseberry, alpine strawberries, ladies mantle and columibines.
