I'm assuming you used Outlook (or similar) to access it...

Can you log in to their site and check if they've got any emails for you?

After this happened to me once I make sure I back up my mail box at least weekly.

Is there a quick way to back up emails from outlook express? If I remember rightly, when I did it a while ago when my old computer needed to have windows reloaded, it was a very tedious process doing each email individually. Also, I can't reintroduce it into the in/sent boxes in the way it was before, wher I preview the mails quickly.

In OE, go to tools/options/maintenance/store folder. that'll tell you where your emails are stored. you can copy that and save it and import it after a reformat.
