Make sure you give the post office their Holding Number too before you post 'em.

Holding number? I only hold them briefly before administering the shoe.

We really must try some this year.

Perhaps we could save some up for the skillsharing weekend, and others could be brave with us

I ate garden snails on a previous thread, and they were revolting. I made them into a risotto, then OH fed it to me whilst I squeezed my eyes shut.

Ugg.

Worth pointing out that since this thread was started Roman Snails have now been added to Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981 and are now protected from "from intentional taking, injury or killing, as well as possession and sale", so we now cannot eat them or even kill them with slug pellets.

The common garden snails can still be consumed if you fancy them.

The thought of eating snails makes me gag. When in France recently a geriatric couple on a table next to us had snails. While admiring their general well being and vitality for life (no doubt attributable to a diet which included snails) I still could not even think about bringing myself to eating one. I'd need to be dire straits before I could but it may well not stay down for long.

dpack, I take my hat off to you (it's quite a nice hat as well).

I find them OK to eat, just not that interesting. Just a vehicle for butter and garlic.
