Rear A Quarter Steer……

We have a small number of White Park steers due to finish in April 2009 – would you like to have us raise a quarter for you for delivery butchered and tray wrapped next Spring?

The principle is this – we’ll raise the steer for you, which will be finished in an extensive grazing system purely on rich Cheshire grassland with NO growth promoters and minimal routine medication. It will graze with the rest of the herd and you can visit any time to see its progress…and even have regular photo updates if you’d like!

All of our breeding stock has full pedigree and therefore, all of our stock can have its lineage traced back nearly two hundred years when formal records for this breed began.

The animal will be butchered so that you will receive a selection of all cuts, both forequarter and rear quarter joints which will weigh approximately 65-70kg in total.

The meat is lean, well-marbled, flavoursome and cooks extremely well. When properly hung for three weeks or more it produces outstanding and highly sought-after beef as the depth of taste is matured and it becomes even more tender making it one of the most sought after beef breeds.

It was a White Park loin that was famously knighted "Sir Loin" by James I during 1617 in recognition of its superior flavour, quality and tenderness.

Each quarter will cost £295 with a £95 deposit payable at the start with the remainder payable upon delivery (which will be approximately £20, unless you’d like to collect!).

Please PM me for more details.

No, sorry, he's not replying to my emails either.

Just looked on Facebook, it appears he's removed me as a friend

I have a cousin called Crispin Reeves. however, Crispin is a nickname (he is actually Christopher) and he isn't involved in rearing meat in anyway. He's in the navy.

You could buy beef a lot cheaper than that in 1981,

That seems to be a price per kg,for a quarter before butchering, bone in,weight of meat minus bone, fair bit less.

Still a decent price £1200 for carcase weighing 280kg.

Of course, but after boning at that price, the customer wont get 70kg of meat.

Work back from the whole price of the carcase,
