Hello everyone.
I was well into self sufficiency many years ago, John Seymore was my guru. I kept a small heard of goats and was supplying milk to many homes, I grew almost all of my food, brewed my own beer and wine, ate mostly game and goat.
Work and my career got in the way and self sufficiency fell by the wayside, but some twenty later I’m back into it now and look forward to some banter with you all.

Croeso from over here
Met John Seymour in the Friends' Meeting House in Cardiff with the Cardiff Organic Gardeners in about 1979.
Any other COGs out there?

Hi gz.
I met John in about 1984/5, can't remember exactly, he did a talk show in a place called Spilsby, not far from were I live, he had time for everybody, marvelous bloke. I was gutted to hear he died a few years back.

It is a blinding book and has pride of place on our bookshelf. Is the new one worth a look then?

Hi from Somerset btw!

To be honest it is just the same as the original but with updated drawings and photos, still worth buying though.

And another bonjour.

I have the newer addition of JS - from what I can remember without going and getting it, there is more about renewable energy.
