I'd go with HP from our experience at work. If you're not worried about it looking lovely and having bells and whistles then decent second hand ones cost very little.

just bumping this up as I desperately need to bite the bullet and buy a new printer, anyone had any experiences with wireless printers? it would be a great relief not to keep wanderinge the house with the laptop everytime I need to print something out.

Currently thinking about the HP Officejet 6500 Wireless or the HP Officejet Pro 8000, but I dunno if a proper laser printer would be better

We use Samsungs at work. quiet, quick, reliable and cheap. Staples usually have one for about £60, but I've seen them cheaper than that. Replacement toner carts £30 - £50 depending in model.

I am going to jump on the bandwagon. I am also on the look out for a mono laser. I really want the ability to do double sided (duplex) prints but cannot decide whether to invest in one that does it automatically or alternatively one that does manual duplex. My current inkjet does manual duplex and if I try to print a largish document it always ends up taking an extra page somehow and getting everything out of sync. Argh!!

Any pointers greatly received.

Currently considering Samsung ML 1915 (manual duplex) at £80ish or the Brother HL 5340 (automatic duplex) at £180 ish.
