It was billed as the most scary yet but I didn't find it scary at all.

I think they get carried away into thinking the cleverness of the effects (which really were very clever) must correlate with the scariness of the episode.
I thought it was less scary that I should have found it, if that makes sense

Disappointing. Not as frightening as autons. But nothing is as frightening as autons.

I liked it, thoroughly good family entertainment that I watched because my eleven year old found it too frightening to be on her own in the room. Frightening enough is fine I think.

What was so clever about the effects? All they used was a hosepipe and a CGI water cannon.

I think perhaps the scary bit was supposed to be the Doctor going over to the Dark Side...

Come on now, the facial prosthetics to have the water pouring out of their mouths were pretty clever.
