My mushroom book is still in a box somewhere. There aren't any problems around eating this one are there? (Which is the one best not mixed with alcohol? ) |

Common ink cap is not to be eaten with alcohol. Shaggy parasols are fine but can upset some people, have you had them before? |

I think that they disagree with some people. Mind you, you can say that about just about any mushroom. |

Thanks. No I haven't eaten them before but we are having them for lunch, fried in butter with fresh bread. Then there's the rest of the them to store somehow. They are amzingly free of bugs and have dried out in the strong wind despite the rain last night. |

They dry quite well for storage. Just shove them in a very low oven. |

Ah ha, once the rayburn is put back together from it's annual servicing I can use the bottom oven. Or I can make a quiche. I like bacon egg and mushroom quiche. |

I agree, the common ink cap doesn't work well with alcohol - shaggy parasols give me a terrible stomach |

We had our first Shaggy Parasols last night and so far we seem ok - will have to visit the patch again later today. |
