Her works walk yesterday, out from Thornam to Hunstanton.
Obviously, that meant walking past some salt marsh covered in marsh samphire, so we had to have some. Not at its best at this time of the year, but its still a great vegetable.
Nibbled on sea beet and alexanders most of the way along, found lots of sea holly (too late in the year and too pretty to pick anyway), and then, going through a copse on top of some sand dunes, came across lots of Suillus sp. I haven't worked out what they are yet, but they're an edible species.
Not bad considering it wasn't a forage |
