You can ask your vet to prescribe the cow stuff. Eprinex. The bottle is cow-sized and lasts for ages, obvs. Don't use it on the cock birds though, it interferes with fertility.

Blowtorch all the crevices of the wooden one and put vaseline liberally in all of them on the perches and joints so the buggers get stuck in it when they creep towards the hens to feed on them.

That's very sad. Is that a fault with the breed or because of how they are reared?

It's a bit of both. The breed is designed to grow extremely quickly for commercial purpos ...

I think I may try that if I do these again. I don't want them to go on that long necessarily ... but growing slowly enough so the bone growth keeps up with the muscle would be good.

I've seen them advertised. I thought you used them over the top of your other protection in case of accidents. I don't see that it matters though, so long as you change them regularly - it's just like ...

Wolfhound-desire aside, I can't really be arsed with dogs. They're too needy. I can't even cope with clingy people amd they don't even shed on the furniture.

Awww. Lovely. The boys went to the local dog show this afternoon ... I am angling for a wolfhound to train as an assistance dog, but they came back with nothing. Sadly disappointed
