Does anyone have any tips for preserving green beans in brine? I dont have a canner, only jars.
I heard that peas and beans can carry botulism and other nasties not killed by heat. Is this right? |

I believe ite Canadian pond weed the oxygenating one. I dont know its latin name.
If it is elodia, I wont put it in. I'll have a google.

Do leeches occur naturally in small garden ponds?
My dog brought some oxygenating weed out of the local pond instead of her stick. I have put it a bucket at home till I get the pond liner.

Ive just sown spinach beet, and planted parsnips grown in toilet rolls...they were at seed leaf stage. Have got some savoys, kohl rabi and leeks waiting to go in.
I did also sow some Sturon overwin ... |

Yes its seems we all need a lot of luck this year, it will certainly be interesting to see which varieties do best.
The carrots and parsnips seem to love it though. |

Well I did get them out yesterday finally, nothing ventured. They have perked up, but not surprisingly are smaller than the ones in the pics posted here
