I've been reading Annie Berthold-Bond's "Better Basics" again lately and now I would like to buy some vegetable glycerine to make moisturiser etc with. Does anyone know where I can buy this please?
Many thanks,
Sandra

I was going to suggest Baldwins which I know a couple of people here have used, but can't see this on their site, might be worth ringing them.

Melinda Coss says Fred Aldous for glycerine but again, no sign.

Josephine Fairley's natural cosmetics book recommends finding a supplier of plant-derived glycerine (dunno why exactly but it is probably what you are looking for) and suggests Neals Yard, which has come up trumps - https://www.nealsyardremedies.com/shop/bin/pxisapi1.exe/large?item=100190

I've looked at that book before, have you used much from it already and is it practical for the non-American?

Just found these sources too, can't vouch for them personally however as these are from a Google search:

The organic herb trading co, in Sally's links, supplies plenty of health food stores with bulk herbs etc, and is where we are looking at buying vanilla from, so probably reliable (we hope )

Thanks for the links.

I do think it is an excellent book. I've owned it for a couple of years and dip into it periodically. I find the cleaning section useful. Some stuff is impossible to source here though.
