The new kitchen is coming in about three weeks and we are trying to decide what to put on the floor.

We currently have vinyl which is okish and I although I love tiled floors I do have a tendency to wander about barefoot and I find them very cold.

We don;t want to start putting underfloor heating and the like in and a friend of mine has recommended tile laminate

Has anyone got this? and has anyone laid it?

I looked at it, seems really easy to lay but it work out at 3 times the price of a (self) tiled floor

And you have to make sure that it's the proper water resistant stuff - otherwise it'll start to swell after your first major spillage.

When it comes to tiling kitchens it's one of those jobs that can be worth paying someone to do. The cost of paying someone to lay a tiled floor can be a lot less than the cost of the tiles themselves (and the floor tiles in our kitchen were so heavy that there was no way I could cut them ! )

Possibly, although I recently tiled our floor and didn't find it too difficult, I did borrow a electric tile cutter though!

Over here tilers charge a fortune. I think i saved myself £500.

I tiled mine fairly well I think, and it is not really than hard to do.
