This is a feel good and share the goodies round barter thread. Its really simple, an item is listed and the deal is it is posted out free (or dropped off by the magic of the Downsizer pass the parcel system) to the first person who wants it. They in turn have to offer something equally desirable on the same terms.

It does rely on a bit of self management, so go back and edit your original post to 'gone' or something nice and clear if your item goes, so that a later browser doesnt get confused and start asking for an item no longer available, and quote the original offer when stating you want it, then pm the person to give them your address. Its that simple.

So, got something you want to rehome, but don't want to sell it or arrange a direct trade? Pop it in here, and let the good stuff circulate.

Available: 'Home Ecology, making your world a better place' by Karen Christensen, 1989. Ex library copy, so looking a bit scruffy, and probably slightly dated in some details, but perhaps a useful read for those who like to read everything available on ways to do downsizery things about the house. Apparently it was voted in the top 20 green books in 1989

Okay, what about eggs?

I can put forward one dozen hatching eggs, barnvelder hens cross with speckled sussex cockerel. Ladies should lay nice dark brown eggs, about 200 a year, boys should make a nice fat meal after about six months.

I have a brand new 14" chainsaw chain which I did offer to someone in the distant past but can't remember who. - Gone
I'll take up the offer of the eggs if possible.

In that case, it's shrunk since I said yes please, and is no longer the right size for my chainsaw bar
You told me it was 14", Jonnyboy.....

Frantically thinking of something to barter that isn't wine/heavy to post. [/headscratch]

Oh, it might be 14". PM me your address again and I'll pop it in the post. No harm if it doesn't fit.
