The boys are home. Blind Pugh and I fetched these last Saturday morning from a farm just a few miles up the road. They are wild boar crossed onto a Large Black sow and at just twenty pounds each, hopefully we can't go wrong.

Pugh and Gordon To avoid any confusion, I feel that I must out that Pugh is the one on the left. By the way, Gordons full name is Gordon Brown. After all, he is Brown and rather a smug little pig to boot.

We fleetingly thought about calling this one Derek Trotter but settled for Harry. Do you get it? Harry Trotter as in Harry Potter? :cred:

Last but not least.

Tiger Woods. For obvious reasons, we thought that young Tiger would be better off living with two other guys and without female companionship.

There new home.
Harry, Gordon and Tiger

Grub up. Note the rather spiffing bit of Axminster.

Its been a good fifteen years or more since we kept pigs here and I'd like to thank you lot for having lead me astray.

Lovely looking pigs. Those snouts look like they were born for some serious digging!

We had a choice of fourteen from the litter. There were all sorts of colours available, the mum originally had sixteen piglets.

Axminster! ... you're spoiling them ambassador

seen a fair few wildboar crosses - mind you when we enquired and asked for a male piglet the price suddenly tripled ... needless to say we didn't purchase one

Well done Bodger.

We had a Del Boy one litter. He sprained an ankle coming out of the trailer and limped for a couple of weeks, so as he had a dodgy trotter he became del boy.

Wish I could see the pics.

How long are you looking at growing them on for, Bodge? I've heard that wild boar crosses are slower growing than 'straight' rare breeds.

We obviously wont chop them until we think that are ready but Karen and I will have been hitched for 30 years in August. It would be nice if one of them could come to the party.

They look lovely. "Adventurous" is how I've heard wild boar crosses described in the past. Your three look as though that fits the bill perfectly

Eventually the worm will turn and if they do bite me, it will be me who has the last laugh. They are quite nervy but already seem to be settling down.
