Has anyone tried making their own Nutella? All the pictures in the recipes I have seen look unsatisfyingly grainy.

I used to make chocolate spread....equal quantities of fat, cocoa powder and syrup of some sort.
As the nuts contain oil, you'd probably be reducing the fat when you add lightly roasted and finely ground nuts...

I'm still looking for a way of grinding my nuts to a smooth paste, gritty hazelnut ice cream just isn't nice

Can't you do some next time you go the Chez's? She has a vitamix. It would probably freeze ok. I think I have bought ground hazelnuts too.
