Does anybody fancy a bit of pigeon shooting near Taunton in the next week or two?

Yep. Got a few cooling in the truck right now, and reckon I've got the most productive bits of the farm spotted out now.

The best time will be when they're cutting it.

I'm putting together a little 'protective association' of farms in the area, and plan some fairly heavy pigeon shooting there when the harvests start. Anyone interested in getting a Downsizer pigeon weekend or few days together? Accommodation - we could sort out something perhaps involving tents. Plucking, bagging and freezing on site.

Hmmm. Anyone interested?

I'm really surprised that you haven't been inundated yet. If I lived even semi local I would change my plans to make the most of the opportunity.

Well, this is the west country. A lot of people probably fear they'd be dressed up as the Green Man, paraded in obscene, turnip-addled rituals and then burned alive in a giant wicker phallus.

It is true that we do that to quite a lot of visitors, but as long as you keep your lucky stoat with you at all times there is nothing to fear.

I agree with Jonnyboy - I'd love that sort of opportunity but the distances are a bit much for me - Lancashire - Taunton is really a very long way - Last time I did it - it took us well over 6 hours and we didn't have any traffic hold-ups
