On The Steps at Lynton.

Church Steps, Lynton, EX35 6HY
(01598) 753614

Good locally sourced, ethically produced food.
Reasonably priced
Child friendly in a sensible way - we got an extra plate so Ben could share our starter and they did him a child's portion of very good sausages and chips.

I had squid and chorizo salad followed by turbot steak with proper chips and pea puree then a chocolate pud with a melted gooey centre. All tip-top.

Sean had scallops followed by chicken with mushrooms and a potato and chestnut thing.

Wine list was decent too and not too marked up. Some interesting pudding wines on there.

Also, if I remember rightly, doesn't Lynton have The Valley Of The Rocks? Which has goats.

What's not to like?

I've still got the tickets from when we went on it many years ago. Didn't try the restaurant though; sounds like we missed out on a treat.

The Thatch in Croyde and the Manor in Georgham are really nice. The Manor has a good play area and very child friendly.
