We saw Goji Berry 'bushes' (no more than a couple of spiny branches really) for sale in the garden centre at lunchtime and nearly bought one ... has anyone grown them?

I was wondering how quickly they start fruiting and how prolific the fruit is.

And is it a tasty fruit?

Gojis....
Not grown them myself but also intend to.
They have started growing wild in this country.
They dont need any special requirements tio the best of my knowledge. Focus are selling them at a fiver. Hope that hasnt upset anyone! They grow about 6ft high, dont need pruning, you should get a handful of berries in the first year of bought plants.
The mrs sticks the berrys in her breakfast cearial. We have also had them in chicken soup (another thread coming). The plant looks like it may make a good hedge to me
they have a perculiar taste when raw sort of tangy and sweet.

I've only had dried ones from health food shops, it's an unusual taste, might be worth trying before you plant any

Yogi-berries are nice if you soak them in a little bit of hot water. In between you make a custard and immediately when its ready do it over the berries and let it cool. Very nice.
Yogi-berry muffins are nice too! (add a bit of cinnamon!)

My seeds are in the pots now for a week and a half. Nothing happened yet.

I tried them dried, and also rehydrated, and they didn't appeal much in either state. I bought a large pot of them too
