Do Skivvys need the caravan so they are closer to the sink

If we can make it, the Caravan would be really appreciated, I always feel very guilty about grabbing it but between allergies and needing the blasted notebook on tap it really is a good thing to get.

Please do not feel guilty, Im just happy we have accomodation that makes it possible for you to come along

Nuc's and swarms are going to be in high demand this year so be prepared to pay upto £185 (Thornes price)

This is the very reason why Maureen has come out of retirement and wants to pass on her Good Beekeeping skills for free to people who really care about the bees,. Not only is she seeing the bees becoming too expensive for genuine people to keep them :but also the spread of the deseases and deaths through other reasons, that with knowledge people, would be able to KEEP thier expensive Bees well and happy.

The Carmarthenshire Council Call her for swams which she has GIVEN away after bringing them on in a "Nuc" to peolple who she Knows will pass on good beekeeping skills to others .To her the bees are far more important than the money, and quote "At her age, the one thing better than money is Knowing you have passed something Good On before you get in your box" She loved the whole idea of the way the Downsizers is a village and Im sure if she were not so busy she would learn the computor like I have and Join
.She is donating a hive to the farm so that I can share it on these special weekends and so that she can show beginners the whole process through the season and hopes to find pupils who will help others in the future.
An Interesting Lady to meet, I am very lucky to have met her and think that you will all agree what an inspiring lady she is. But then she has been inspired by the fact that The Downsizers exist.

Hi Guys!
Thanks for the kind words regarding my experience with bee's however, the reality is, that i've been a beekeeper for around 6 years.......and working in Emergency Medicine for over 20 years!
I am indeed bringing our beekeeping dvds to show via my media projector, laptop & screen etc. I'll put up another post when i've worked out which ones would be best etc.
I am Community Resuscitation Trainer for our NHS Trust, and will be conducting an Adult Basic Life Support (& Paediatric BLS) session, as well as covering Anaphylaxis and simple medical emergencies such as heart attack etc. I will provide all the training aids for this and think that everyone will have a fab time learning some life saving skills which will be tailored/aimed at the group (including kids!).
On the medical front: I will have a first aid kit as well as basic resuscitation equipment, which will include a defibrillator (happy to demo this, but hope it stays in the back of the car!).
I would ask that if participants are known to suffer from allergies, or Anaphylaxis, that they bring their own medication/Epipens with them.
To reiterate: I am a Registered General Nurse with a specialist qualification in Accident & Emergency Nursing. I have worked as a Charge Nurse in Cardiology, and have recently finished 2 years in Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care. I am a Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor, and an ALS Instructor Trainer.........so I think I have a working knowledge of my subject!
Chat soon!

I have just had a message that chortlepinkpants sadly cannot now make it to the skep making weekend. This might affect the people who were worried about being allergic to bee stings but were reassured by his offer of sharing his knowledge about first aid etc.
We hope that he and his Bees have a good summer.
