Following on from my suggestion elsewhere, Resistance is Fertile has very generously offered the use of his place in North Devon for this purpose, along with space to camp (for which he does not propose to charge a fee). People coulld bring along their own stuff (though RiF would also be in a position to supply the same pork we used for the sausages at the Ilfracombe weekend, and the Sunday breakfast sausages were his).

I've been there myself and it really is a lovely spot, complete with rootling pigs about the place.

I'll be able to provide use of cold-smoker, mincer, vac-packer, sausage machine and also a BBQ. There are railway stations nearby (connecting from Exeter) and people could get lifts in from them. I'll see if Madame Bear could do a demo of pork pie making, and we would hope to do some salami, perhaps brawn, certainly sausages, bacon, maybe chorizo? I know RiF has plans to produce a lot of air-dried hams.

Please show interest initially, and then we can sort out dates later.

Definitely be interested. Our weaners will be going off for slaughter late august/early September, so we could bring some raw materials along if the event is held around that time (and there's no lambing then - whoopee!).

Now if I could combine that with a trip to Mum on Exmoor I'd be interested - but that is a very small "might" depending on dates, gite building, animal, OH and all sorts of other commitments.

I would suggest then that a suitiable date gets thrashed out by those keen on coming we can al;so then maximise availiable raw materials.

Exmoor is no distance, later in the summer sounds ideal from our point of view.

Umberleigh station is 2 miles away on the Exeter - Barnstaple line.

We would welcome adding some food drying to the menu of events if that would help, our solar drier should be up and running by then.

I would definitely be interested. Main restriction is work, but even then, I could make mid/late afternoon on a Saturday. I would be happy to help with brawn demo / making.

A little white ball of snow just phoned me about this

You can count me in as long as it is no where near any school holidays

I would be willing to bring the ingredients to make my pork pies, if you wanted me to that is. I am more than willing to do a demo.

we'd be interested. Are there going to be any neighbour's-wife-shooting events planned?
