i was having a conversation with a horticultural friend of mine about vanilla last week, never considered growing it before, can we in this country? and if so how/when/where?

It's actually the processed pods we are talking about. We have on several occasions bulk bought them through downsizer. I am waiting for Snowball to get online as I suspect she might have quite a few pods left.

If I remember correctly they have a vanilla vine growing in one of the glasshoues in Glasgow Botanic Gardens. Just behind the water tank with the guppies (no, really!) I think. It's a species of orchid and they're very good at orchids there.

The tricky bit is processing the seed pods correctly to bring our the flavour I think.
