Hey, that's lovely, now I want one!

How long did it take to get him to do it? I mean, from the conception of the idea to actual chicken? I will probably need to multiply by three for Stef, bless him!

And who's going up the ladder to put him in place?

Once he gets started its usually quite quick...its the getting him started on a project...

He is rather busy at the mo.....we have a trailer in for repair and service and he is going to fit the old woodburner into our shed.

But bespoke weathervanes are just another thing he hopes will take off here.....along with bootscraper/racks and coatracks....everybody needs them.

Jealous? Moi?

Love it, now you just need to get it up on the roof and set the cardinals properly. Remember, true North, not magnetic north!

That's lovely. I want one of those weathervanes with a witch on her broomstick.

I will be urging him to do them as a business.......once he's got a few of the bottom part made, there is a wide range of designs for the silhouette.

witch on a broomstick is available.....

Im thinking of having the cockerel painted gold...how many people have a gold cock on their roofs?

Good idea - you see them offered for sale, but they are cheap, nasty, flimsy ones for the most part. A proper blacksmith's one would go great.

I'd love a copper one, but I suspect it would cost a small fortune given the price of copper at the moment.

He is a clever bunny......he suggested an armillary - you know all different planets and stuff moving with the wind....
I told him not to be a smartarse - it would get knicked.

He's drawing me some gate designs for the private lilypond area out back.....never has a minute to himself.

I think copperwould be feasible if it was a recycled tank....then not too expensive for it to get flattened out and cut.
