I'm doing a pair of socks in a tiny cable for me (BFL & nylon) and a mat for the bedroom from yarn I spun 3-ply from yet another mystery fleece.

You?

sock machine is going overtime trying to keep up with 'aargh, the re-enactment season has started and it still feels like winter' orders , got an Early Tudor hat to finish this afternnon, then a basic Tudor flat cap to start tomorrow, I'm meant to be test knitting a stocking for someone else, and I'm itching to start work on a pattern I cooked up last week but havent had time to try out yet. Oh, and another pineapple.

I am just about to start some socks, with my wool, that Sally has recently dyed for me. They are a present for my neice, who helped me sort all of the wool last year.

An XXL Aran pullover. You may remember me looking for advice re. wool types, (quite a few people have been impressed with the feel of BFL) I also tried doing some whilst lying in a hospital bed, bit too close to death to handle a cable needle. Still at it, another year or two and I'll have it finished

Just finished and i'm currently blocking a shawl that is like a circle with a small slice cut out of it.

I'm also working on a test knit shawl that is a little lacey, but should be quite simple to knit. and on and off, mainly off, on a set of knee high socks but i do need another utterly mindless pattern to begin now as well.

Just socks

Incidentally - I Sally's gorgeous (and very reasonably priced) socks simply flying off one of the stalls at Kentwell

Just about to graft the toes on a pair of socks for myself, then my next job is to knit a pair of fingerless mitts for Chez`s mum. They are in exchange for two Jacob fleeces.

I think this may be one of Chez's mum's fleeces that's rapidly becoming a mat. It looks and feels like a Jacob's.

I`ve not spun any of the jacob yet Mochyn. If you are using it for rug making, does that mean its a bit rough for gloves/hats etc?

If you sort it really ruthlessly you'll find there's quite a lot of nice, soft stuff, but there's also plenty of rough. I spun it roughly and 3-plied it to give a chunky yarn and it's doing a brilliant job. You could split out soft from rough and use the different types for different projects.
