Hi all!
I'm Sara and I'm from South Wales, a few miles from Caerphilly.
Like so many others I'm dreaming of a future where we can move away from this small mining town and be as self-sufficient as possible.
At the moment I have 5 hens in our backyard, 17 cats and a border collie. Oh, and a husband and 3 year old boy!
I used to have an allotment but had to give it up as I was using too much petrol driving over there with gallons of water every day!! (Had 2 waterbutts but they soon went down to nothing in the summer!)
I'm growing a few salad things and carrots in my mini greenhouse but that's about it this year.

There was a programme on the box a little while back about a Welsh lady who had 82 cats ... it started as a Rescue/re-homing centre for strays.

Last year she took in 18 (or so) and re-homed 7.
Methinks she's getting her maths wrong.
