Interesting tool for roughing out the bowl. Hardly a delicate spoon or touch, but food for thought. I do most of the rough shaping with a draw knife as it is a tool that suits me. I am useless with an axe of any kind, but have a very small one that I can hold in my hand for rough work.

Wow.. just 4 tools and life time of experience will make carving job look so easy.. BTW...those sort of spoons were used as much as for cooking as for eating..proper porridge spoon
