It's brand new. Just take it back to the shop. If you asked for 3G, bang on about sale of goods, and fit for purpose, and misrep, and so on.
You're looking to spend more money. (But, don't go for a Nexus, it doesn't do what you want.)
Eta ah. Seemingly, the 4G version will work on most 3G networks, so you just need to spend the extra sixty notes, and then twenty quid a month for your data allowance.
