I thought they would skin like a rabbit as they can't have quills underneath if they can curl up. They would spear themselves if they did. I have never met a porcupine, so have no experience of them at all I am afraid.

it had a few chums, no great damage, rather pretty

that was a couple of days ago and no sightings since

as a phototechy sort of thing that would have been better with the macro lens and tripod, i used what i had round my neck for papping cute birds:lol:

What is it DPack?

Thanks Slim. They sound a bit like the badgers that turn up down the allotment. Can you slap an ASBO on a badger?

The bee's had gone. I check the floor and I couldn't see anything. So they were either eaten by something or they did detach from one another and fly away. I wonder what they were doing?

Built a hedgehog feeding station this weekend, so hopefully we'll get some hedgehogs using it.

We went for a walk in another wood yesterday, and apart from husband finding mud, when I was wearing walking sandals, which is par for the course, we saw a lot of butterflies. Silver washed fritillary, red and white admiral, peacock, ringlet, meadow brown, and some sort of skipper which we didn't manage to identify. A forestry road with good vegetation either side is a marvelous place for butterflies. Sadly it also harboured a few horse flies, one of which got me twice before we got it.

We have been seeing a mix of Swallowtails here, including a Zebra Swallowtail - very pretty. Also, quite a lot of baby Praying Mantids, a few Dragonflys and the weird Bush Cricket keeps on giving me a bloody heart attack by appearing in unexpected places, like the bowl of tomatoes.

that is not quite what i meant, it would be a novel training technique, if a bit harsh.

the big chap at the back does not want to go to those places

that was what i meant

other wildlife examples are available

at the mo the towny pigeons are feeding, they do have some style with wing tip strikes at high speed, the pecking stuff is amateur

i am trying to make them polite to each other while dining, a paddington type stare has been deployed a few times
