We went for a walk in another wood yesterday, and apart from husband finding mud, when I was wearing walking sandals, which is par for the course, we saw a lot of butterflies. Silver washed fritillary, red and white admiral, peacock, ringlet, meadow brown, and some sort of skipper which we didn't manage to identify. A forestry road with good vegetation either side is a marvelous place for butterflies. Sadly it also harboured a few horse flies, one of which got me twice before we got it. |
